This was my first time utilizing Mrs. Melanie’s mediation services and she far exceeded my expectations. She hand bakes brownies and cookies and places them in the mediation room just prior to your scheduled time and they are unbelievably good. When mediation is over, and if you were able to contain yourself from eating all of the baked goods, she gives you a doggie bag to place the remainder in to take home.

My wife and I approached Melanie to help mediate a divorce after I left the marriage due to emotional abuse. We arrived and were both told that Melanie couldn't advocate FOR or AGAINST either of us, but would endeavor to do what was fair and make sure that everyone was informed.

My wife and I started to discuss a financial figure and division of property that was amicable, and had decided on something that was actually MORE than what she originally wanted.

Melanie got the impression through my wife's nervous behavior and the fact that she was willing to accept less than her full 50% of the property, that I was an abusive husband. She separated us, told me that the training she'd received at a family violence course was alarming her, and that she wasn't comfortable. She then advised my wife that she should call a lawyer.... something she had NOT done for me... provided an attorney's number TO my wife... wrote all the financial numbers on a big white board and made absolutely sure my wife knew exactly how much money she was leaving on the table... and only then was ready to proceed.

My wife did not work for more than 10 years, used drugs constantly, was incredibly emotionally abusive, and when I finally got fed up with it and left Melanie Grimes decided I was the abusive spouse, and advocated against me.
